Holiday party season is upon us, which means it’s time to find a great party outfit (or two!) to stun the crowds. Finding regular clothing can be hard enough, so full-bust party dresses can seem nearly impossible to source.
Today I’m rounding up some of my favorite party dresses for the season and where you can buy them. Even if these dresses aren’t exactly what you’re looking for, these sources should start you down a path to the perfect party outfit. I’ve included options for fuller figures, petites, and more.
Paloma Plaid Dress by Saint Bustier:
I am a plaid-a-colic, so I couldn’t make a list like this and not mention this fantastic dress from Saint Bustier. This figure hugging plaid dress is a subtle nod to traditional holiday colors without being too literal. It would look beautiful with some sparkly gold heels and accessories, but could also be dressed down for some offices later in the season.
Phoenix Dress by Pepperberry:
When it comes to holiday parties, the little red dress is just as useful as a little black dress. This dress boasts figure-flattering details like a sweetheart neckline and a full pleated skirt. The jacquard details give the dress texture and interest as well. It would look great with statement jewelry and a sparkly cardigan for the perfect winter party ensemble.
Lakeside Libations Dress by ModCloth:
I wouldn’t have looked at this dress twice previously, but I saw a full busted lady wearing one in a restaurant over the weekend, and it looked fantastic. The lace detail highlights curves while the traditional sheath shape makes this dress appropriate for a whole range of occasions. If you don’t want to show a ton of cleavage but want to stand out at your next party, this dress is a great option.
Metallic Side Knot Dress by Eloquii:
This dress has been seen recently on Rebel Wilson, but I’ve mostly included it since I love metallic dresses, and they are eminently holiday appropriate. It has a great shape, cool draping and is machine washable! If you go with this sort of dress, keep your accessories simple and let the dress shine — literally.
Adelle Dress in Noir Dot by Igigi:
Another great little black dress, this time for the curvy plus size customer. I love the unexpected polka dot touches on this dress, which sets it apart from the sea of black dresses that come out during this time of year. This dress is the perfect canvas to play with over the holiday season by swapping out bold shoes and accessories for a whole range of different looks.
Lena Dress in Coral by Trashy Diva:
This dress doesn’t pop in the website photos or on the hanger but becomes a showstopper on curvy ladies in person. I’ve tried it several times, but just don’t have anywhere fancy enough to wear it. The coral satin color is luscious and flattering on a variety of skin tones while the satin has an exceptionally luxe sheen. Pair this with a vintage style faux fur shrug and you’ll be the best-dressed lady at the gala.
The Gilda Dress by Pinup Girl Clothing:
Pinup Girl Clothing makes fabulous gowns and cocktail dresses: their offerings this season are no exception. This Gilda Dress is a new release, but it uses built-in shaper technology that has been applied to other bestselling dresses like the Monica. While I’m partial to this elegant blue version, the dress also comes in multiple colors and prints. Sizing ranges from XS to 4X, which is pretty incredible. If you’re going to a gala or other black tie occasion, this dress also comes in a gown length.
I’ve seen this dress on lots of people and many full busted women don’t need a bra with it, even those of us who are in the larger cup size range. The built-in shaper is great at both slimming your figure and supporting your boobs.
Palazzo Siren Jumpsuit by Saint Bustier:
Not everyone loves dresses as much as I do, so it’s great to see options like this Palazzo Jumpsuit available at sites like Saint Bustier. This jumpsuit is comfy, cocktail party appropriate and fits up to an H-cup. If you want to try a new look this holiday, try this piece.
Faux Leather Dress in Black by DD Atelier:
If you’re petite and full busted, DD Atelier has lots of great holiday options for you. I love this faux leather dress for its edge and novelty factor — it’s the sort of dress you never see marketed to full bust customers. It is a gorgeous and unexpected choice for a party this season!
The Helen Dress in Burgundy by Biu Biu:
If you like figure hugging dresses with more coverage up top, try this elegant, burgundy dress by Biu Biu. Again, this dress can be worn for a party or accessorized easily for work. This dress looks nice and seasonal, but also doesn’t make you feel like you match the Christmas tree.
Which of these full-bust party dresses is your favorite? What are you planning on wearing to holiday parties this season?
